#1 Indie of the Day: Jaded Hearts by Olivia Linden

Posted by K. Kellee | Posted in Advertise Here, Author Interviews, Book Reviews, Indie of the Day | Posted on 19-02-2013

JAded final large

Author Bio:
Olivia Linden was born in Queens, NY but raised in San Antonio, TX. Reading and writing were her passions from a very young age. At the age of 7, she submitted her first short story as a class assignment. The story went on to be posted in the school halls by the principal. That sparked her to explore her writing talents. Initially, she had dreams of becoming a teacher when she grew up, but the twist and turns of life brought her right back to writing. Currently living in Florida with her 10 year-old son, she has decided to make a career out of writing.Other than a blog and a few articles written for a website, Olivia is a newbie to the industry. Jaded Hearts is her first published novel. Olivia’s writing style takes after her personality in a big way. Her sometimes sarcastic, and usually humorous tone comes across in her stories. In reality, she prefers to laugh her way through even the toughest of situations.  Life has taught her that laughing helps to feel better faster.
“You can cry and complain, but no one really wants to see that.”
Book Blurb:
24 year-old Jade Spencer is at a crossroads. She has spent her entire life living under the shadow of someone else’s rule. First, her controlling grandmother, who unwillingly inherited the job of raising her and her brother Drew. Then, her fiance Evan, who was also controlling. Notice a theme? Now she is ready to live life by her own rules. She breaks it off with her shady fiance, and packs her bags for good. What better place to follow your dreams and desires than New York City? With help from her Aunt Vivian; her cousin Jackie; a new place; new job, and new experiences waiting, she intends to live life to the fullest. But, things turn tricky when two fated encounters both lead to powerful emotions.
Julian Garza is the most desirable, and haunting man Jade has ever met. He sets her on fire from their very first chance encounter. Jade finds him totally irresistible, and promptly falls under his spell. But there is a dark shadow attached to Julian that leaves Jade hesitant, and has her aunt telling her to run.
John Benson is the perfect man. A handsome, successful lawyer; John provides a friendship like no other, and a love that Jade has never known. For the first time she feels truly loved, but we all know there is no such thing as perfect. So you have a not so classic love triangle, with a hint of mystery.
What could possibly be the problem? Jade doesn’t believe in love, and lives by denial. Being abandoned by her mother at a young age has left her with a hard shell around her heart, an an even harder time letting her feelings show. As she tries to find herself through her new relationships, Jade learns the hard way that sometimes intentions mean everything, and nothing at all. Will she find love or will she leave a trail of jaded hearts? Love, secrets, and lies are all on the menu.

K. Kellee Book Tour Needs Your Help

Posted by K. Kellee | Posted in Author Interviews, Contests & Competitions, Leave Comments, My Thoughts | Posted on 29-01-2013

K Kellee Book Tour

There is a task I’m trying to accomplish for 2013. The task is to be able to attend as many book fairs and conventions as I possibly can so that I can get the Ansheniu Series in as many hands as possible.  The story is bigger than me and my loving, supportive, little circle.

Please help me obtain this goal.  Every little bit helps.  If you can spare a dollar, share a dollar and share this link with your family and friends as well.

My latest book in the Ansheniu Series is Darkened Sunrise.  I am currently joining as many book competitions as I can that I qualify for and I share the contest competition information with other writers so they can compete too.

Everywhere I go, my baby boy Ian will be going with me.  He is my lucky charm and I look forward to blazing the trails with him, with your help.  Peace and blessings to you all. :-)  <3 <3 <3

Darkened Sunrise is Here

Posted by K. Kellee | Posted in Advertise Here, Author Interviews, Book Reviews, Leave Comments, My Thoughts, Pen and Prose, Uncategorized | Posted on 25-01-2013

I know, I know, it’s about time.  Family and friends you can stop planning my kidnapping until after you read this installment in the Ansheniu Series and find yourself waiting for the next book.  That is jumping the gun however, enjoy Darkened Sunrise and all it’s glory.  I enjoyed every ounce of labor I put into it and I look forward to enjoying my efforts with the third installment and screenplay just as much.

Now for a little bit about Darkened Sunrise:

Jade and her friends are all battle geared up and ready to go take on their first mission as the chosen four, reuniting the realms. Julius isn’t going to make it easy on them though. When he usurped Caroni from his brother with his evil wife Sasha, many beings from other dimensions found their way to Caroni and everywhere else its former inhabitants roamed. They help make up the new Caroni, the stripped down rough Caroni and Julius’ brother James, who was exiled to Cacara, is just waiting for the day when he can lead his people back to Caroni and take his rightful place as ruler. It’s a numbers game and as the battle for the inhabitants of the realms heat up between the brothers, will James and Julius allow the love they once shared for each other make a bridge to peace or are they so far gone they will now fight to the death? This question and more will be answered in the sequel to Ansheniu Rise in the Ansheniu Series entitled, Darkened Sunrise.

Happy Reading Lovelies!!!

Those of you on Facebook, I am planning a book launch for Friday, February 1st.  I’ll be posting the event soon and I’ll add the details here as well.  For those of you on Twitter, I will be hosting a book launch the following Friday, February 8th.  Please join me and the participate in the festivities.  Look out for the book giveaways!!

P.S.  If you haven’t read Book 1 in the Ansheniu Series, Ansheniu Rise, click on the pic below and make your purchase now to get caught up.

Author Interview: TRACEY L. PACELLI

Posted by K. Kellee | Posted in Author Interviews | Posted on 14-09-2011

Tracey L Pacelli – Time Warped – Teen Paranormal – Gypsy Shadow Publishing (www.gypsyshadow.com)

Release Date: September 14, 2011.

1. Tell us about your book.

Lanie Landry is a troubled teen who wakes up one morning to find herself in an insane asylum in 1969. There, she meets her biological mom for the first time and falls for a mysterious inmate.

I like to think of Time Warped as an angsty teen fairy tale. Lanie’s a misfit in her town, unable to relate to her adopted mom, who is somewhat of a religious fanatic. Nothing in her life works, that is until she warps back to 1969, and finds everything she’s been missing in life inside an insane asylum, of all places. New friends, a hot boyfriend, and a horrifying mystery–involving a sadistic head shrink- motivate Lanie to see herself, like never before. But, will her life have that typical happy ending we’ve all come to expect from a fairy tale? All I can say is there will be some unexpected twists that will bend your mind without permanently damaging it.

2. How did you go about getting published?

The new-fashioned way. I surfed the internet, otherwise known as the publishing wave of the future. I realized all the mid-sized publishing houses were becoming virtual places, and I researched till I found a place that felt homey for Time Warped. Gypsy Shadow Publishing (gypsyshadow.com), founded by two dynamos—Denise Bartlett and Charlotte Holley—dealt in my type of otherworldly material and proved to be the perfect fit for my manuscript. When you find the right place, all tends to go smoothly, and it did. Upon reading it, the ladies contracted me almost immediately and here we are!

3. Tell us about your marketing strategies.

I’m mounting a grass roots campaign, blanketing my area first and foremost, and spreading out from there. The managing editor from my local paper, The Weaverville Tribune, came over the other day and I baked him scones. Three of them burned, but I hid those! I think I bribed him well, but I’ll know for sure when the article debuts this month. I also belong to a local book club and the owner of the wonderful indie store that hosts it (Spellbound bookstore in Asheville), graciously decided to stock her shelves with Time Warped upon its release. So excited about that! Also, someone I don’t know all that well on Facebook liked my profile and sent it on to a PR friend of hers and now I’m getting ready to be a guest on a syndicated radio program called Women’s View Radio. You just never know where opportunities may come and I’m open to run with any that come my way. That’s why I sleep with my Nikes on!

4. What’s the best advice you could give to new writers who want to get published?

Check in with your intuitive flashes on a daily basis and keep a notebook handy. My best ideas always seem to come that way. For me, I write what I’m passionate about. If I don’t love my story enough to want to revisit it again and again, and yes…again, then no one else is going to get on board with it either.

5. Tell us what you would like your readers to know about you.

I love Fred and Ginger, even took tap dancing for a few years and was a ballroom dance instructor for like a month at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Charleston. That’s how much I love Fred and Ginger! But in the end, I realized my life wasn’t a musical and I quit. So now I settle for watching Glee and breaking out into song and dance, only once in a while, when my seafaring hubby’s out to sea and my daughter’s at school.

6. What are you currently reading?

I sort of resisted Hunger Games because of the violent theme, but it kept being shoved in my face. Everyone was talking and obsessing over it. And now, would you believe, they’re actually filming the movie here in my town of Asheville as we speak? So, finally yesterday, I gave in to the pressure and read the first page in my local bookstore…and then another page…and another…and I became totally hooked. Wow, such great writing. Why was I so stubborn before? Blame it on my Taurus Bull.
